Volunteer
There are many ways to get directly involved at HEAL Animal Rescue!
In order to operate efficiently and provide adequate care, the Adoption Center needs a minimum of 12 volunteers a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. While our Sanctuary is more project-based, it still needs and benefits from volunteer support.
Volunteering might be a good fit for you if you are:
An animal lover (of course!)
In need of volunteer hours
Looking to fill time in retirement, in-between classes, or after school
Someone who loves animals but cannot have a pet of their own
Wanting to connect with other like-minded animal advocates
If this sounds like you, here are some of the volunteer roles we are always in need of:

Dog Walker
Love the outdoors? So do our dogs! We make sure our dogs get three walks a day, 365 days a year! We're looking for volunteers who enjoy regular walks or runs with furry friends. It's important to maintain our dogs' activity and exercise levels while they wait for their forever homes!

Cat Care
Are you a cat lover with an overabundance of love to share? If that sounds like you, we are always welcoming members to our cat care team to feed, scoop, and socialize our furry friends awaiting their forever homes.

Facility Cleaning
At HEAL Animal Rescue, we clean up what we mess up! With the number of animals we care for, things can get a little messy around the Adoption Center and Sanctuary. We are always looking for people who are ready to roll up their sleeves to help make this a clean place for animals, volunteers, and visitors. This includes general cleaning, deep cleaning, dish cleaning, and laundry.

Property Maintenance
Providing our animals with the best care possible requires regular upkeep of our facilities. While our handyman skills have improved over the years, sometimes maintenance and improvement projects just need a special and more experienced touch. Whether you enjoy painting, carpentry, plumbing or landscaping, we have volunteer opportunities for you!

Sanctuary Project Days
Maintaining a 62-acre animal sanctuary is no easy feat. Projects from repair to improvement are always popping up! When this happens, we are in need of people to commit just one day of their time to help make the Sanctuary a safe and happy place for all. Events
Beyond work at the Adoption Center & Sanctuary, we also are in need of individuals who specialize in humans, too! We rely on our events to keep us going and connected to the community. As our events continue to grow, we need help now more than ever! Volunteer to help coordinate or work our special events, outreach, and community events, and be part of the big picture. Your efforts will have plenty of happy tails wagging!
