Adopt Our Animals

Ready to Add a New Member to the Family?

Before we can help you find your new furry best friend, we need to make sure you:

  • Are at least 21 years of age or older

  • Have a legal form of identification such as a driver's license or state ID

  • Permitted to have the breed and size of pet you are interested in where you currently live

  • Able to spend the time and resources necessary to provide the training, medical treatment, and proper care for your pet

  • Are committed to giving your adopted pet time, love, and patience to adjust to his or her new home

  • Ensure that any pets in your home currently are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccinations.

The process of adoption at HEAL Animal Rescue is meant to find the best match for the person AND the animal. To do this properly, we cannot process same-day adoptions. We need time to contact references and conduct background/landlord/vet checks. Plus, we require everyone living in the home (human and animal) to attend a scheduled meet and greet.

All of our animals receive professional veterinarian care prior to adoption including, but not limited to, physical examination, deworming, flea/ticket medication, rabies and distemper vaccines, spaying or neutering, and microchipping. All dogs are tested for Lyme/Heartworm and all cats are tested for FeLV/FIV.

Interested in any of our adoptable animals? Submit an application by clicking the type of animal:

Please remember: submitting an application does not guarantee an adoption, and applications are processed in the order they are received. The responsibility of owning a pet is a lifetime commitment. Please consider this responsibility before submitting an application. Good luck in your search for your newest best friend and family member, and as always thank you for opting to adopt, not shop! Rescue is the BEST breed!

Ready to Help an Animal as They Wait for Their Forever Home?

For some dogs and cats, the shelter is too stressful of an environment. Others need extra care to aid in their rehabilitation or for their newborn puppies or kittens. That is why we are always looking for responsible people to foster our shelter animals.

When fostering, you get to be an important, and oftentimes healing, stop for an animal on their journey to a new life.

To foster, you must meet the same requirements listed above for adoption.

Have an Animal to Surrender?

If you have an animal you cannot care for–either your own pet or a stray you’ve found–, we understand it can be a difficult and emotional situation. However, we want to assure you that surrendering an animal is the right thing to do!

HEAL Animal Rescue is a no-kill adoption center, and we believe in helping every animal find the right home. If you have an animal to surrender, please let us help and fill out the form below.

Unfortunately, we do not guarantee a space for your animal just by filling out the surrender form.  You will be put on a waiting list, and once space becomes available, if we can accommodate your request, we will contact you directly.

If you need immediate assistance, please call a member of our team for additional resources in the area.
